The Glacier Challenge is celebrating its 10th year as a multi-sport relay. Racers come from all over to compete both competivitely and recreationally in what has become a much-anticipated event.

The Glacier Challenge is off and running. We just received the great news that in spite of clean-up work underway, we will be able to access the river from Riverside Park. Enormous THANK YOUs go out to Senator Tester, BNSF, the EPA, Nomad Technologies, and the clean up crew of Kennedy / Jenks for their willingness to make the river available to us on race day. For you the racer, that means our race route will not change from last year.

The race begins in Whitefish, Montana and between the start and finish line, racers will have biked, paddled and run just over 50 miles of beautiful Montana terrain. Racers may enter as individuals, partners and teams (up to 7 members).

How to attach an Ipico timing chip to a traditional running shoe or a Vibram Five Finger running shoe. Ipico Sports timing mats use two separate antennae lines in each mat, one for transmitting (charging) and one for receiving (listening). The advantage to Dual Frequencies is that it allows our readers to simultaneously charge and listen to tags. Other passive systems (Championchip, DAG, Chronotrack, Winning Times, etc.) use a single line and alternate between functions. In high density situations this can cause misses if the reader is charging when it should be listening and vice versa.

The 2012 3rd Annual Whitefish Animal Hospital WAG Race is here.Come out on Saturday, May 19, 2012 and race to benefit the Hugh Rogers WAG Park. All proceeds will go to the park.  This is a fundraiser!!!

This is a cup-free race.  We will supply a Hydra-Pouch for all 15k participants, but all other racers will be required to carry their own bottle in order to utilize water (donated from Petty John’s Water Supply in Kalispell) at aid stations.

****The 2012 Glacier Challenge will be challenging in a whole new way this coming year – for racers and those of us behind the scenes. Due to the Whitefish River clean-up, we will not have access to the river from Riverside Park as we have in the past. We talked about moving the location of the race but we couldn’t come up with a good [re]location and, to be honest, we feel like we’ve got a good groove going at Riverside. That leaves us with one option – create a new race route.

We have been told it will be for this year only and then we can return to last year’s route but in the meantime, we want to make this necessary re-route come with some perks. Over the next few months, we will be looking at maps – maps of the new bike trail, whitefish trails, and alternative to road options. We might make use of some other parks along the way and get you into the woods more. We hope to have the new route figured out and on this website by March 2012.
